Ultra/Trail Running Events

We love running and are constantly looking for new and exciting challenges for ourselves and others. To this end we have put together ultra-running events that we know will be of interest to those of you with the determination, mental strength and physical prowess to push yourself to the limit of endurance.

We have four ultra runs currently planned for the coming year with the emphasis on balancing beautiful settings with really significant but safe physical challenges and maximum enjoyment. Click on the left hand button to get more details for each run.

For day runs, we have the 30 mile Doyen of the Downs in December for the experienced runner looking to end the year with a blast, or the newcomer to ultras who wants a real trail running challenge. There is the  Brighton Trail Marathon next March, which is the most varied terrain possible for a one day race and, with easy road and rail access, it allows supporters to join you on this day out by the sea. Additionally, we have the classic 56 mile (90k) London to Brighton trail run through London, Kent, Surrey and Sussex - this year part of the Extreme Sports Festival weekend at Brighton.

For those who like a real challenge though, check out  the 160 plus mile (258k) Coast to Coast stage race across Cumbria and Northumberland, close to the Scottish border. This is not the Wainright route but a trudge across Marshland, Hadrian's Wall, the North Pennines, through the Kielder Forest  and on from the Irish Sea to the North Sea near Alnwick. Lonely and desolate as some of this country is, it is accessible at both start and finish by road and rail from anywhere in the country. In the middle bit though, we'll all have to fend for ourselves..Do this as a team and negotiate a discount dependent on the team size. 

If you love ultra running (or if you want to try it), we provide the opportunity for you to push yourself to the limits of your endurance. All we ask of you is to enter, train hard  and run your heart out on the day. We will provide you with drinks, food and shelter where necessary, emergency support and everything else you expect from a major event, plus advice and ongoing support to help you to succeed. Moreover, you will find us welcoming and polite, whilst professional, with a refreshing absence of corporate arrogance. Our message board community of runners will welcome you to the discussions on diet, training, kit and share experiences of pleasure and pain.

Our runs are truly spectacular events in their own right to complement or compete with any endurance events currently on the ultra running calendar in the UK or elsewhere.  They are also excellent physical and mental training for the Western States, Marathon des Sables, Ghobi March, The North Face® Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc® or other ultra or multi-stage events that you can slot into your training schedules.
